CHARITY NEWS UPDATE

During 2022 worshipers and visitors to Hart Church donated £3286.72 for charitable causes. This is a truly remarkable amount and I have listed in alphabetical order the charities we supported, some had more than one gift:- Alzheimer’s, A Rocha, Brooke, Cancer Research, Children’s Society, Dogs Trust, Guide Dogs, Hartlepool Hospice, Leprosy Mission, McMillan Carers, Pakistan Disaster, Salvation Army, St Barnabas House, Tear Fund, Ukraine Emergency. Thank you for your ongoing enthusiastic support. This year we have continued with our monthly donation to Tear Fund and propose that money we collect until the end of August will support the work of two following charities. I thought you might be interested in this additional information. Hartlepool Life Boat. This is not a government organisation, it is non-profit making organised, and staffed by volunteers. There has been a lifeboat station in Hartlepool since 1803; the old lifeboat house was damaged during the German bombardment in 1914. The lifeboats have been replaced several times with more sophisticated craft. In 1977 the new lifeboat named The Scout had been paid for by scouts from all over the UK. Queen Elizabeth II came to the town to name and launches this boat. Hartlepool now operates 2 lifeboats, an all-weather Trent class and a B Class Atlantic 85. The crews have been presented with 23 awards for gallantry, including 1 gold medal the last launch was this month May 7th. You can Visit the lifeboat house on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

THE PRINCES TRUST

This was established in 1976 by HM King Charles III, The Trust believes that every young person should have the chance to succeed no matter what their background or the challenges they are facing. They help those from disadvantaged communities and those facing the greatest adversity by supporting them to build confidence and skills to live, learn and earn. The courses offered by The Trust help young people aged 11 to 30 develop essential life skills, get ready for work, and access job opportunities. The Trust supports them find work because having a job or running a business can lead to a more stable, fulfilling life. Their courses enable them to gain nationally recognised qualifications, whilst developing employability and interpersonal skills through community projects, challenges and work placements.
